Job Description

We are looking for a versatile HR Generalist to serve as the backbone of our Taiwan operations. This role is a hybrid of people operations and active recruitment.  You will be the primary custodian of our Taiwan office culture and operational excellence. Your role is to manage the "human" side of the employee lifecycle, and serve as the strategic "ears on the ground" for global leadership. You will ensure we don't just "comply" with Taiwan law, but thrive as a top-tier employer in the local market while building an entrepreneurial culture and playing a critical role in scaling our team by identifying and onboarding top-tier talent. This role is based at our Taoyuan City office, requiring in office presence 5 days a week.

 Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

HR Operations & Compliance
  • Labor Law Adherence: Ensure all HR policies, employee handbooks, and contracts remain up to date with the Taiwan Labor Standards Act (LSA).
  • Benefits: Manage our benefits, including Labor Insurance, National Health Insurance, and Pension contributions.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding local policies and workplace culture.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate employee records in our WorkDay HRIS and ensure data privacy compliance.
  • Onboarding: Design and lead the onboarding experience to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly into the company culture.

Strategic "Ears on the Ground" & Culture

  • Sentiment Analysis: Conduct regular 1-on-1 pulse checks with the Taiwan team to gauge morale, identify "hidden" frustrations, and report insights back to HQ.
  • Cultural Bridge: Adapt global HR initiatives (e.g., performance reviews, D&I programs) so they make sense in a Taiwanese professional context without losing the company's core DNA.
  • Conflict Resolution: Act as a neutral, local mediator for any interpersonal or management issues, escalating to HQ only when necessary with a proposed solution in hand.
Employee Lifecycle & Workplace Experience
  • High-Touch Onboarding: Own the "Day 1 to Day 90" experience. While the PEO handles the paperwork, you handle the integration: equipment setup, culture immersion, and team introductions.
  • Workplace Safety (OHS): Ensure the physical or remote workspace complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This includes organizing mandatory health checks and safety training.
 Talent Acquisition & Recruitment Support
  • Full-Cycle Coordination: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for local roles, from sourcing and screening to scheduling interviews and conducting reference checks.
  • Sourcing Strategy: Utilize local platforms (e.g., 104 Job Bank, CakeResume, LinkedIn) to build a robust pipeline of candidates.
  • Recruitment Liaison: Support hiring managers by vetting candidates for cultural fit and "international mindset," ensuring they can thrive in a global reporting structure.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–5 years of HR experience in Taiwan, with a proven track record in supporting engineering related recruitment.
  • Experience using Experience working in an international company, preferable one with HQ in the US.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Language Skills: Professional proficiency in English.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with WorkDay, CultureAmp and/or other HRIS; as well as local job boards (104, 1111) and experience using GreenHouse.

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

  • Strong understanding of the Taiwan tech/startup talent landscape.
  • High level of empathy and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, international environment.

What We Do

We created the world’s first handheld, whole-body ultrasound probe: the Butterfly iQ. This innovative device reduces the cost of the traditional ultrasound system by miniaturizing it onto a single semiconductor silicon chip with our patented Ultrasound-on-Chip™ technology. We’ve paired our handheld probe with cloud-based software to create a true imaging solution—one that delivers vital information, in a variety of use cases, across multiple care settings. This information supports timely clinical decision-making and creates workflow improvements that help clinicians achieve better outcomes for the people in their care. Our Butterfly iQ and next-generation Butterfly iQ+ have received CE Mark and FDA clearance, and are being sold in hospitals and clinics in 20 countries around the world. In 2021, Butterfly began trading publicly on the NYSE. By joining Butterfly Network, you will be helping to transform the future of healthcare. Our team helps us maximize global impact, motivated by the idea that our products will impact the lives of millions, including the people they love.

Why Work With Us

Butterfly Network is made up of dreamers and visionaries who are actively building towards a world where everyone has access to state of the art healthcare without the burden of overwhelming cost. We believe moonshots are reality and strive every day to get a step closer to our mission of democratizing healthcare for all.
