HR Generalist - HR Operations & Compliance

Description

Delavan Holdings is hiring a Human Resources Generalist in Delavan, Wisconsin, to own HR policy, compliance, and leave across six companies and 3000+ team members in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota. This is a compliance, policy, and project management role, not a benefits role. Onsite.

What you'll do

• Write, update, and maintain HR policies and employee handbooks across all six companies.
• Track multi-state employment law changes in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota and turn them into policy and practice.
• Administer FMLA, state leaves, ADA accommodations, and return-to-work coordination.
• Manage workers' compensation claims and support unemployment claims, wage and hour claims, and EEOC charges.
• Own required notices, postings, compliance audits, and reporting, and maintain employee and leave data in Paylocity.
• Project-manage enterprise HR programs across every business unit — the performance appraisal cycle, engagement survey, and enterprise policy rollouts. This is roughly half the job.

Requirements

What you need

• Multi-entity, multi-location, or multi-state Human Resources experience. The company need not have been large, but the structure has to have been complex.
• Employment law knowledge on day one. You may not know our four states, but you know states differ, where to look, and what to ask.
• Leave administration experience, ideally including workers' compensation.
• Real project management ability across multiple companies and multi-month timelines.
• HRIS experience in some platform. Paylocity is trainable.
• Able to work onsite in Delavan, WI.

Nice to have: policy and handbook writing, Paylocity, HR integration experience, AI tools in HR workflows, SHRM-CP or PHR. Bachelor's degree preferred, not required.

Pay and benefits$75,000 – $88,000 base, depending on experience. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and paid holidays. Family-owned and stable.
