NorthStar Memorial Group is seeking an HR Coordinator I at our Home Office in the Houston Galleria area. Here, we believe in empowerment. Responsibilities
- Monitor and organize the Human Resources group ticketing system
- Assist with the onboarding process, including preparing offer letters and initiating pre-employment background checks.
- Process I-9 forms and complete E-Verify submissions.
- Perform basic audits of HRIS data to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with other departments (Payroll, Benefits, IT, etc.) to support new hire setup.
- Process routine employee personnel changes under guidance.
- Support termination processing and updating records.
- Respond to basic HR inquiries and route complex questions as appropriate.
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, scanning, filing, and document preparation.
- Create and maintain complete and accurate employee files.
- Provide customer service support by addressing employee HR questions.
- Answer incoming calls and assist or escalate as needed.
- Assist with HR sponsored activities at the Home Office.
- Complete employment verification requests.
- Sort and scan incoming mail and deliver to appropriate recipients.
- Assist with ad-hoc HR projects as needed.
Qualifications

Associate Degree in Business or HR or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of Administration or Human Resource experience
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Professional HR Certification – PHR or SHRM-CP
- Experiences with HR databases/HRIS systems/Applicant Tracking System
