Position Purpose:
We are seeking a dynamic, consultative HR Business Partner to help us develop and grow the HRBP function at Simmons. The HRBP will build a strategic partnership between HR and the business unit leaders and to help them achieve their people goals.
The HRBP will build relationships with business unit leaders and develop in depth knowledge of lines of business, to serve as an HR resource who can help align organizational goals across the company. We have experienced tremendous growth over the past few years and need the right person who can help our current and future team take their organizations to the next level!
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic and trusted advisor to organization leaders assisting in solving the unique people challenges in their organization.
Assist organization leaders with their communication planning to foster a culture of continuous 2-way communication.
Participate in the design and promotion of leadership development as well as implement the leadership development initiatives in assigned organizations.
Provide talent management guidance to organization leaders, increasing productivity and retention of high performing associates by aligning talent metrics with business objectives.
Assist management with development planning for high potential associates (including compensation, retention, training, experiences, etc.).
Assist in building an employee engagement strategy that will impact areas of attention identified in engagement surveys.
Build associate morale and loyalty through recognition initiatives.
Identify skill gaps in specific business units and job roles and provide feedback to Manager of Learning and Development for curriculum and content development.
Assist and provide advice to organization leaders in designing a people structure that encourages knowledge sharing and expertise, process improvement and efficiency, and a culture of strong internal and external customer service.
With organizational leaders, design and implement a workforce planning and development strategy to continue to raise the talent level in all areas of the Company and prepare the organization for future people needs.
Effectively provide change management expertise and manage employee relations during organizational changes, from successful integrations to workforce reorganizations with strategic planning, sensitivity and clear communication.
Anticipate, evaluate and communicate needs proactively between HR and the business unit, providing improvement feedback and integrated solutions.
Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s function, goals and objectives, industry position and competition.
Desired Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong relationship building skills who can provide leadership in aligning HR and line of business strategic organizational goals. Specific qualifications include:
7+ years of experience in HR, consulting, management and/or strategic planning.
Knowledge of basic HR principles and practices – experience with mergers and acquisitions and change management a plus.
Ability to effectively and quickly build relationships and support employee development at all levels and across different functions.
Self-directed, passionate leader who is customer focused and acts with a sense of urgency to proactively address issues.
Excellent project management, planning and analytical skills; ability to influence through data-driven recommendations.
Poised professional with excellent communication skills with a focus on facilitating challenging discussions and navigating difficult conversations.
Broad experience/knowledge of best practices in employee engagement and goal achievement, with particular emphasis in banking industry a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree
