The Role

This will be an onsite role at our Midland, TX location!
Job Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supports the regional leadership, the field project management and support personnel, and the craft personnel of the Southwest and Northern Regions. This role will align personnel practices with operational needs to strengthen accountability while remaining accessible and responsive to the workforce.

The HRBP plays an active role in the efficient operation of the Midland Hiring Center’s onboarding function, while coordinating with the regional offices and project teams to ensure onboarding is completed accurately, compliantly, and with workforce readiness in mind. The role oversees day-to-day HR processes for a distributed, craft-based workforce and partners closely with leadership and supervision to address employee relations matters, reinforce performance expectations, and support the full employee lifecycle.

The role is based in the Midland office on a Monday to Friday schedule and is not eligible for remote or work from home option. This role currently oversees one (1) HR Coordinator in Midland, with potential for team expansion as regional workforce demands grow. Success in this role requires strong collaboration with regional HR teams, Corporate HR, and Project Support personnel.

Primary Job Function:

  • Develop a strategic business partnership with the Region’s operations leadership, supervision, project management and project support regarding all workforce practices.
  • Utilize the stated partnership to drive alignment and consistency in craft onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards across the Midland Hiring Center and remote locations
  • Identify and implement ongoing process improvements.
  • Effectively administer the full employee life cycle.
  • Champion the disciplined application of the Performance Excellence model and drive fair, consistent, and well-documented resolution of employee relations and workplace issues.
  • Partner with Corporate HR and Legal on investigations and documentation to mitigate regulatory and legal risk.
  • Maintain integrity of HR systems and employee records in accordance with company policies and applicable government regulations.
  • Ensure timely and compliant handling of employment verifications and generate employee data reports as requested by management, utilizing established HR guidelines.
  • Oversee and ensure timely, compliant handling of unemployment claims; escalate disputed claims to the CHRO for review within required timeframes.
  • Ensure field locations maintain compliance with labor law posting requirements.
  • Support the CHRO with projects and initiatives as requested and perform other related duties consistent with the scope of the HR Business Partner role.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and tasks assigned by management.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive human resources experience; ideal candidate will experience with group onboarding of craft/trades personnel and employee relations experience for hourly and/or field-based employees.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft products, specifically Excel and SharePoint, is preferred.

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience supporting HR in an operational or field environment.
  • Practical HR training or continued development (coursework, certifications, or on-the-job progression) preferred.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) or progress toward certification is a plus.

  • Proven time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and technical skills with attention to detail and quality.

Physical Demands:

  •  Regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms to grasp.
  • Ability to walk up and down one flight of stairs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of your work time.
  • Complies with Strike’s policies and procedures.
  • Complies with Strike’s Drug & Alcohol Policy maintaining favorable drug testing results throughout employment.
  • Performs job safely with respect to others, property and individual safety.

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
