Job Overview

We are seeking an HR Business Partner, Production with expertise in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive or electric vehicle (EV) sector. This critical role will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to our operations team, driving people-focused initiatives that support a high-performance, compliant, and engaged workforce. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in manufacturing environments, including with hourly employees, unionized workforces, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. 

What You’ll Do:

1. Strategic HR Leadership: 

  • Partner with plant and manufacturing leadership to align HR strategies with operational goals. 
  • Develop workforce plans that address staffing, skills, and succession planning needs to meet production demands. 

2. Employee Relations & Engagement: 

  • Serve as a key resource for resolving employee concerns and grievances, fostering a culture of trust and open communication. 
  • Implement engagement strategies tailored for hourly workers to enhance retention and satisfaction. 

3. Compliance & Policy Enforcement: 

  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA, FMLA, and EEOC regulations. 
  • Regularly audit HR practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. 

4. Workforce Development: 

  • Drive training, development, and upskilling programs for both hourly workers and management teams. 
  • Foster a pipeline of internal talent through targeted development initiatives. 

5. HR Operations: 

  • Oversee core HR processes such as payroll, benefits administration, and performance management for the manufacturing workforce. 
  • Monitor HR metrics (e.g., absenteeism, turnover) and recommend corrective actions where necessary. 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment. Experience in automotive/EV manufacturing is highly desirable. 
  • Proven experience working with hourly workforces, including managing unionized environments and labor negotiations. 
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance standards, and best practices in manufacturing HR. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Experience implementing HR initiatives in diverse cultural and demographic environments.
