The Sr. HR Business Partner, provides HR partnership to Global Research and Developments teams. This role will execute the HR strategy in support of the overall business objectives with emphasis on talent management, coaching, organizational design, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement and creating a world-class associate experience.   This is an opportunity to have strategic impact whilst being hands-on. This in an onsite role in Sunnyvale CA.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with leaders and teams to enhance their effectiveness, communication and decision-making skills. This may involve one-one-coaching, team coaching and facilitating team workshops
  • Help resolve conflict within within and across core teams by promoting a culture of trust, accountability and collaboration
  • Proactively Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across core teams ensuring goal alignment.  Provide guidance in managing core team performance, setting clear expectations and encouraging feedback cross-functionally.  
  • Drive initiatives that increase employee/associate engagement and motivation
  • Assist in designing and evolving the organization structure to better align with strategic objectives
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and internal partners to ensure the organization has the appropriate talent to deliver on both short- and long-term business objectives.  
  • Collaborate with Cepheid’s HR community to identify needs and implement creative and effective solutions to positively impact the organization. Actively identify areas for improvement (culturally, organizationally, process) and implement appropriate changes.
  • Lead change management initiatives as well as anticipating the need for change and influencing before a crisis or inflection point arrives. Resolve employee relations issues through a systematic approach with clear documentation and follow through.
  • Provide guidance on, and help conduct, the investigation of complex complaints and concerns that could result in legal ramifications or organization exposure; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate action based on established practice.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, legal compliance, talent management as well as organizational design principles
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including remote teams.
  • Able to influence and coach at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Action orientation and Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Industrial-organizational Psychology and 8+ years of experience OR Master's with 6+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong data-driven analysis and decision making with the knowledge and ability to interpret and develop key insights from available data to drive strategy.
  • Demonstrating strong executive presence with ability to command respect and gain credibility through exercise of sound business judgment, clear decision-making, and excellent communication.
  • Managing significant change/project initiatives, including change management experience.

Other requirements/abilities:   

  • Able to work flexible schedules to accommodate global /regional work teams. 

The salary range for this role is $180,000-200,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. 

 

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
