The Opportunity
Netflix is recruiting for an HR Business Partner based in Seoul to partner with our business teams in Korea. Netflix is transforming entertainment, changing the perception of what television is and how it can be enjoyed. This position will be a strategic thought partner to our business leaders in Korea, helping to scale our growth in the country by leveraging a balance of global and local approaches. The HRBP will serve as a pivotal enabler of our fast-growing Korea business and drive a consistent Netflix employee experience while strategically tailoring interventions to accelerate growth.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a strategic thought partner for business leaders by asking effective questions, providing coaching, and suggesting actions based on organizational insights to align talent solutions with business strategy and drive impactful results.
Global and Local Balance: Focus on delivering and executing global programs while being selective about bespoke interventions, ensuring a consistent employee experience across Netflix.
Manager Accountability and Influence: Drive manager accountability by providing strong behind-the-scenes support, influencing leaders to own their team’s performance and health.
Data-Informed Decision Making: Utilize first principles thinking and data-informed decision-making to tailor talent activities and ensure they align with business outcomes
Problem Solving and Complex Situations: Manage complex situations effectively and advise Functional leaders and people managers on all HR-related issues.
Employee Relations and Labor Standards: Develop and implement employee relations strategies to successfully address root causes of issues, collaborating with cross-functional partners to provide guidance and recommendations around labor standards.
Collaboration and One Talent Team: Work closely with Global Business Practices (GBPs) and other HRBPs to align talent strategies and resources, ensuring seamless execution and shared success across the global Netflix team.
Champion of Diversity and Inclusion: Collaborate with managers to enhance diverse representation throughout the organization, promoting cultural appreciation in alignment with Netflix’s global strategy.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources experience in the media/tech industry must have HR Business Partner experience.
Strong influence and negotiation skills, particularly with senior leaders.
Track record of thriving in a high-performance culture with strong resilience.
Proven coaching, communication, and leadership skills, setting an example of excellence.
Strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to translate business strategy into actionable talent solutions.
Analytical skills with experience in using data to drive decision-making.
Expertise in change management, capable of navigating complex and ambiguous situations.
Cultural sensitivity and experience in working within a diverse, multicultural environment.
Background in organizational development is a plus.
Strong understanding and experience with Korea labor law.
Fluency in English and Korean is required.
