The Opportunity
Ross Downing Auto Group is a growing, family-rooted dealer group with five locations across Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama — and ambitious plans to expand to 20 stores by 2040. As we grow, our people are everything. We're looking for an HR/Benefits Coordinator who is organized, people-focused, and ready to be the backbone of our team's employee experience. You'll work directly with store managers and leadership to keep our HR operations running smoothly and our team members well taken care of.
What You'll Own
Benefits enrollment & administration
New hire onboarding & orientation
Payroll coordination & timekeeping
Employee records & compliance
FMLA, LOA & ADA administration
Workers' comp & claims support
Open enrollment planning & communication
HR policy updates & handbook maintenance
Recruiting support & offer letter processing
Employee relations & HR inquiries
What We're Looking For
2+ years in HR or benefits admin
Multi-location or automotive experience a plus
Strong organizational & follow-through skills
Excellent communicator — written & verbal
HRIS & payroll system experience
Discretion with confidential information
Knowledge of FMLA, ADA & ACA basics
Associate's or Bachelor's in HR or related field

Skills Required
- At least 2 years of experience in HR or benefits administration
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and ACA basics
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field
- Multi-location or automotive experience

Ross Downing Chevrolet is a family-owned and operated Chevrolet dealership in Hammond, Louisiana, serving car buyers across the region since 1973. The business focuses on helping customers shop for Chevrolet vehicles and operates within the broader Ross Downing Auto Group, which has expanded to numerous dealerships across Louisiana and brought the Ross Downing name to Mobile, Alabama. Its mission centers on local automotive sales and support for drivers and families.
