We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable HR Assistant to provide administrative support to the Human Resources department. The HR Assistant will assist with employee records, recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, payroll-related administration, benefits, attendance tracking, and general HR operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills, maintain confidentiality, have good attention to detail, and be comfortable working with employees, managers, and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel records.
  • Assist with preparing and processing new-hire paperwork.
  • Support the employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates regarding interview times and locations.
  • Post job openings to company career pages and approved job boards.
  • Review applications and resumes and forward qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Assist HR staff with background checks and employment verification processes.
  • Respond to employee questions and direct complex HR matters to the appropriate HR professional.
  • Maintain employee contact information and other HR records.
  • Assist with tracking employee attendance, time-off requests, and leave records.
  • Support payroll administration by collecting and verifying timesheets and other payroll-related information.
  • Assist with employee benefits enrollment and related documentation.
  • Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, letters, forms, and other documents.
  • Schedule meetings and maintain HR calendars.
  • Assist with employee training and orientation activities.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and HR documentation.
  • Ensure HR records are properly organized and securely maintained.
  • Assist with compliance-related documentation and required HR processes.
  • Enter and update information in HRIS, payroll, applicant-tracking, and other company systems.
  • Assist with HR projects, employee events, and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous administrative, office, customer service, or HR experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to learn HRIS, payroll, and applicant-tracking systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Typical Daily Duties

An HR Assistant may spend the workday:
