This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to join a global organisation undergoing significant transformation. We have roles at both our Dagenham and Dunton sites. You will work closely with experienced ER practitioners and HR Business Partners, gaining hands-on exposure to case management, employee relations casework, and workplace conflict resolution, while also building broader HR capability across talent management, organisational effectiveness, and HR transformation. This role is ideal for a graduate who wants to develop deep expertise in employee relations as the foundation of a well-rounded HR career.
Responsibilities- Provide direct support in managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, and performance-related matters, from initial intake through to resolution
- Prepare case documentation, investigation notes, and formal correspondence, ensuring accuracy and strict confidentiality throughout
- Track and monitor case progress, timelines, and outcomes, escalating risks or delays to senior ER colleagues as needed
- Support investigations by helping to gather evidence, arrange hearings, and liaise with witnesses, managers, and employee representatives
- Build working knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance, and Ford’s internal ER policies to ensure cases are handled fairly and compliantly
- Partner with trade union representatives and employee forums where relevant, supporting constructive dialogue and issue resolution
- Support absence management processes, including tracking trends, managing referrals, and assisting with reporting
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Occupational Health, Legal, and people managers on complex or sensitive ER matters
- Contribute to root-cause analysis of recurring ER issues and help design proactive interventions to reduce case volumes
- Ideally Degree Educated in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline
- Strong interest in building a career in Employee Relations and HR case management
- 1-3 years experience in a HR Advisory / Employee Relations role working with Trade Unions preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations sensitively and professionally
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail, particularly in documentation and case tracking
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgement
- A calm, fair, and objective approach when supporting employee relations matters
- Analytical mindset with confidence in working with case and HR data
- Basic understanding of, or strong willingness to learn, UK employment law and ACAS best practice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Right to work in the UK
