Goal of function: As HR Advisor Belgium, you play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of core HR operations across the Benelux region, with a strong emphasis on payroll administration, employee benefits management, HR operations, and employee relations. Acting as a trusted HR partner for managers and employees, you provide practical and timely solutions to day-to-day operational HR matters while ensuring compliance with Belgian and Dutch employment legislation and company policies. In addition to supporting the Belgian entity, you provide operational HR support to the Netherlands, helping to ensure consistency of HR processes and an excellent employee experience across both countries. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working in a dynamic international environment, solving problems quickly, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering high-quality operational HR services.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate payroll activities for Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring accurate and compliant processing in collaboration with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders, while supporting payroll audits and maintaining payroll records
- Administer and coordinate employee benefit programs, support annual benefits reviews and benchmarking activities
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes, performance management, grievance handling, and workplace concerns, while ensuring compliance with Belgian and Dutch labor legislation, collective labor agreements, and company policies
- Monitor legislative developments and support compliance activities, including social inspections, audits, policy reviews, and the maintenance of employee documentation and personnel records
- Act as a trusted HR point of contact for managers and employees, providing advice and support on day-to-day HR matters and escalating complex cases as appropriate
- Maintain accurate employee data within HR systems, support HRIS administration and reporting, promote data quality and governance, and ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data protection requirements
- Provide operational HR support to the Netherlands organization, supporting the implementation of HR programs, policies, and initiatives and partnering with HR colleagues and business leaders to ensure a consistent employee experience across the Benelux region
- Manage HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle, including the preparation of employment documentation and ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in an operational HR role
- Fluent in Dutch (Flemish) and English; French is a strong advantage
- Experience with Belgian and/or Dutch payroll administration, labor law, employment regulations, and HR operations, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas
- Experience working with external payroll providers
- Knowledge of HR systems, HR data management, reporting, GDPR, and employee data privacy requirements
- Strong administrative skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
