Where is the work:

On-Site (5 days)

What's in it for you:

  • This position is responsible for providing administrative and clerical services to all departments in a manufacturing environment.
  • This position will support four locations in the Grand Rapids/Kentwood area. Travel between plants will be required.

What you will do:

  • Support HR team with full time hourly and contingent labor onboarding processes. This includes postings, job offers, and background checks. This role may also support other departments as needed.
  • Facilitating onboarding tasks including new hire orientation, completing I-9s, and new hire forms. 
  • Partner with agencies on tracking temp employee hours and conversions.
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment and changes.
  • Provide general HR support and maintain employee records.
  • Perform general office duties including ordering supplies, brand items, etc.
  • Actively support and organize employee engagement activities including birthday lunches, retirement celebrations, visitor luncheons and seasonal events.
  • Support coordination of onsite customer visits.
  • Encourage and lead community outreach and engagement activities including employee volunteering opportunities, local fundraisers, and employment opportunities.
  • Assist employees with access to the Employee Center and First Up.
  • Identify and resolve problems.
  • Work to consistently meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Continuously strive for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative human resource’s role required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and independent problem resolution.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications with emphasis on Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including the telephone.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs with or without accommodation.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$25.77 - $30.43
