JOB SUMMARY
The IT Specialist will provide customer service oriented technical support ensuring total functionality of IT equipment utilized by company staff and library patrons. The IT Specialist ensures quality and accuracy of their work to maintain IT systems. Effectively communicates technical concepts and requirements in a manner appropriate to given audiences.
Hours Per Week: 40
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Provide IT support for library staff
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues encountered by end users
- Interact with vendors as necessary to support and maintain the IT environment
- Use established tracking systems to log requests, monitor progress, track problem resolution, identify patterns of failure, research bug fixes, and implement solutions
- Effectively communicate with managers, staff, and end users regarding unresolved issues and ongoing support efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An individual should possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below and meet the required education, training, and/or work experience qualifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Computer Technology or a certificate reflecting relevant technical training preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations; bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer networking, hardware, and software systems.
- Basic knowledge of Windows administration, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- General knowledge of computer troubleshooting and technical support.
- Ability to provide instruction and support in the use of computer hardware and software.
- General knowledge of networking principles, Windows backup procedures, and computer imaging processes.
- Some evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on operational needs.
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.
