We are looking for a Group Accounting Policies Manager for our HQ team. The ideal candidate for this role should be based in the EMEA region to ensure effective coordination with our global finance team. As the Group Accounting Policies Manager you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and compliant accounting consolidation and reporting across the organization. This role is essential for maintaining financial transparency and compliance, and it involves a mix of technical accounting expertise, policy development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, owning UK GAAP to IFRS transition and being the expert reference to this matter.

Responsibilities...

  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of UK GAAP and IFRS throughout the Group and UK GAAP and IFRS compliant financial reporting
  • Create and maintain the group accounting policies manual for group reporting under IFRS and guide the rest of the team to ensure the application of these policies
  • Prepare accounting memos based on UK GAAP/IFRS for material, highly judgemental and complex transactions and provide justification for accounting treatment as well as keep appropriate records and workings
  • Lead the UK GAAP to IFRS transition
  • Identify reporting disclosure requirements within consolidated financial statements to comply with regulatory requirements as a private company or listed company
  • Guide and support the rest of the team with the implementation of new accounting standards and group reporting processes (IFRS 2, IFRS 16, IFRS 9, etc).
  • Assist with reviewing group consolidated financial statements

You have...

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACA or ACCA are also desirable
  • At least 6-7 years of progressive experience in Auditing/Advisory firm (Big4) or a multinational corporation, working in the IFRS consulting team
  • Strong expertise with the application and knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS to unique or complex business transactions, especially on IFRS 2, 3, 9,10,15
  • Experience gained within a large, complex reporting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to draft technical accounting papers in English
  • Experience dealing with multiple robust internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
  • Accounting policy experience
  • Aptitude for influencing others to follow you towards a solution

Nice if you also have...

  • Experience within a fast-growth environment, experience in start up environment or listed companies is a plus
  • IPO readiness and or preparation of offer memorandum and listing requirements
  • Understanding of Spanish GAAP
