Job Summary

The housekeeping houseperson assists in cleaning and maintaining all hotel public areas, including restrooms, hallways, stairwells, etc. to meet quality standards

What will I be doing? 

As a houseperson, you would be responsible for performing including but not limited to the following tasks to the highest standards: 

Detailed Job Duties

• Cleaning bathrooms, dusting furniture and pictures
• Vacuums, sweep and mop floors
• Empty carts of soiled linen and dispose of trash, remove spots
• Restock housekeeping carts as needed
• Polish fixtures
• Deliver items to rooms upon request and assist in cleaning guest rooms as needed
• Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the supervisor or engineering team.
• Maintain proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in House Person Housekeeping. 

Ability

• Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guest and employees.
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
• Ability to accomplish necessary tasks in a timely manner.

Physical Demands

• Requires standing and walking 95% of workday.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Considerable repetitive motion of hands, wrists, shoulders and back is required.
• The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• The employee is expected to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb and crawl, depending upon work tasks, and to lift up to 50 pounds given the materials moved and tools used.
• Will be transporting, moving, lifting of Housekeeping product and Housekeeping equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Education

• Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High School graduate or equivalent required.
