Our flagship Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program provides paid transitional work experience, transitional housing, advanced occupational training, and comprehensive supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Doe Fund is also one of New York City’s largest nonprofit developers of permanent, affordable, and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The organization has an annual operating budget of $80 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs.

We are currently seeking a House Manager to join our growing team at our 510 Gates Avenue, Brooklyn facility. 

Responsibilities: 


  • Supervise client movement throughout the facility and during meal times. 
  • Facilitate counting of clients in residence daily via their signing of bed sheets.
  • Provide clients with toiletries and start-up kits for new admissions.
  • Provide clients with OMNY Cards and track the distribution of cards
  • Conduct facility inspections and ensure the cleanliness of the facility and outside areas.
  • Inspect trainee rooms daily.
  • Coordinate and oversee rubbish and snow removal in and around the perimeter of the facility.
  • Evaluate and document required maintenance and preventive maintenance needs for facility and trainee rooms.
  • Make requests to the Administrative Assistant Manager for supplies and equipment necessary to maintain and clean the facility, bathroom, grounds, and trainee rooms.
  • Train in-house facility cleaning and laundry crews in proper work performance and behavior.
  • Document incidents that occur via formal Incident Reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • High School Diploma 
  • 1+ Year of Experience in Residential House Management
  • Fire Safety and Alarm Systems (F-80) Certified or willing to get certified 
  • Familiarity with Special Populations (homeless, substance abuse, formerly incarcerated, etc.) & Basic Knowledge of Service Provision 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs
  • Knowledge of the DHS CARES Database is a Plus
  • Comfort and Willingness to Learn and Navigate an Internal Tracking Database (CTDB)
  • First Aid/CPR Certification or willing to get certification
