MCB Investment Services Ltd., subsidiary of Capital Markets Ltd. is looking for an experienced and business minded In House Lawyer.

Job vacancy: In-House lawyer

As In-house Lawyer, you will play a central role in enabling MCB Capital Markets Ltd (MCBCM’s) growth by delivering practical legal solutions, protecting the organisation’s legal interests, and empowering business teams with clear, timely and commercially aligned legal support.

In this role you will,  

• Provide clear, effective legal advice on matters related to MCBCM’s activities and transactions;
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents pertaining to MCBCM’s activities;
• Support business teams throughout the legal and transactional aspects of their projects;
• Conduct legal research and due diligence to support transactions and strategic initiatives;
• Advise on new laws, regulations and regulatory changes and assess their impact on MCBCM;
• Identify, assess and report legal risks faced by MCBCM and recommend appropriate mitigation actions;
• Protect the legal interests of MCBCM’s entities across all business activities;
• Maintain an updated repository of all relevant legal and regulatory requirements;
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across MCBCM;
• Liaise with clients and external legal advisors to support business operations;
• Develop and maintain a reliable network of external advisors;
• Monitor external advisors’ work and fees to ensure adherence to scope and budget;
• Develop practical legal tools, templates and guidance documents for business teams;

• Deliver training sessions and disseminate relevant legal and regulatory information across MCBCM.

  
  
  

To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies:

We are looking for candidates who have a:

• A master’s degree in business law, with a specialisation in financial law/capital markets/corporate law or equivalent;
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a law firm and/or a financial institution involved in cross border transactions;

• High degree of specialisation in corporate, financial law, M&A, capital markets, project finance or equivalent.
