Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
Mattel’s Central Creative team is seeking an experienced Producer to support the planning and execution of video productions that bring our brands to life across global marketing channels. This role partners with Creative, Brand, Marketing, Studio Operations, and external production partners to produce compelling content from concept through final delivery.
The Producer owns the operational framework for assigned projects, including budgets, schedules, resource plans, production execution, post-production, and delivery. The role establishes the controls and coordination needed to meet timing, financial, creative, and technical expectations.
This position thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and requires exceptional organization, communication, and problem-solving skills to successfully manage multiple productions simultaneously.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Own assigned video productions from creative handoff through final delivery, ensuring each project meets timing, budget, creative, and quality expectations.
- Partner with Creative, Brand, Marketing, Legal Business Affairs and cross-functional teams to define project scope, production schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Develop and maintain production plans, timelines, estimates, Statements of Work (SOWs), and project documentation.
- Prioritize work across concurrent productions by balancing dependencies, deadlines, available resources, and changing project needs.
- Lead internal resources, freelance talent, vendors, and production partners to support successful project execution.
- Own stage gates and handoffs across pre-production, production, post-production, versioning, and final asset delivery to maintain continuity and readiness at each phase.
- Identify production challenges and communicate risks, schedule impacts, or budget concerns to the Senior Producer and project stakeholders.
- Make production trade-off decisions independently by balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business priorities, and escalate significant risks when stakeholder intervention is required.
- Translate marketing and campaign calendars into production milestones, sequencing requirements, and cross-functional dependencies that guide creative development and detailed project schedules.
- Collaborate with Creative Development to produce advertising, social, digital, branded, and entertainment video content.
- Influence creative and production decisions during creative development to ensure concepts are executable within schedule and budget.
- Support the development of creative treatments, production approaches, storyboards, and production briefs.
- Build and maintain projects in Workfront, including schedules, tasks, documentation, and project updates.
- Drive stakeholder alignment and approvals using Workfront Proof or approved review platforms.
- Own stakeholder communications throughout the production lifecycle by providing timely status updates, documenting key decisions and next steps, and maintaining alignment through review and approval milestones.
- Coordinate production logistics including studio scheduling, crew assignments, equipment, locations, talent, travel, permits, and vendor needs.
- Track project budgets, purchase orders, invoices, change orders, and assigned production expenses.
- Coordinate contracts and Statements of Work with Legal, Procurement, Finance, and external vendors.
- Perform final quality-control checks to confirm assets are complete, approved, and compliant with technical specifications before distribution.
- Maintain production assets, metadata, and project organization within Mattel’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
- Support downstream content needs by coordinating localization materials, archival retrieval, and the organization of assets for future reuse.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve production efficiency, strengthen workflows, and maximize the value of production resources by applying emerging technologies, platform capabilities, and industry best practices.
