Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Hospitalist Assistant to provide essential administrative support for our Hospitalist Program at St. Cloud Hospital. This role will primarily focus on coordinating communication between hospitalists, medical staff, nurses and other hospital staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program. The Hospitalist Assistant will work closely with providers, nursing staff, and other hospital departments to enhance patient care and streamline operational processes. The Hospitalist Assistant plays a crucial role in providing essential support to daily patient assignments, ensuring that each patient is promptly seen by the appropriate provider for timely and effective care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communication Coordination: Act as the central point of contact for the Hospitalist Program, ensuring seamless communication between providers and with nurses, patients, and other medical teams in the hospital.
- Patient Assignment & Coordination: Assist in daily patient assignment and ensure the timely and accurate flow of information to relevant stakeholders.
- Administrative Support: Provide clerical support to the hospitalist team, including, but not limited to: mail distribution/fax management, basic office upkeep, inventory/supply order, etc.
- Problem Resolution: Address any issues or concerns related to the hospitalist program, collaborating with relevant departments and program leadership to resolve them efficiently.
Schedule
- Full-time | 60-72 hours every two weeks | Hybrid
- Various start/end times: 5:15am-2:00pm, 5:15am-3:45pm, 2:00pm-11:30pm
- Every other weekend, rotating holidays
Pay and Benefits:
- Starting pay begins at $19.91 per hour and increases with experience
- Pay range: $19.91 - $29.87 per hour

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, medical assistant, or in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in medical secretary or a related field.
- 1 year of experience with office procedures and equipment.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
