Scope
The Hospital Administrator is responsible for overseeing the hospital's
administrative functions to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the
hospital, the efficient delivery of non-clinical services, continuous quality
improvement, and the effective management of procurement and administrative
resources.
Key
Responsibilities
- Manage the hospital's
administrative and non-clinical functions to ensure the efficient delivery
of support services.
- Supervise and manage
administrative and support service teams, including Front Desk,
Housekeeping, Procurement, Maintenance, Security, etc.
- Coach and develop
administrative staff while fostering a culture of professionalism,
accountability, and excellent customer service
- Develop, implement, and review
administrative policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and
service delivery.
- Supervise procurement and
inventory management to ensure the timely availability of medical, office,
and administrative supplies.
- Collaborate with the Finance
team to prepare departmental budgets, monitor expenditure, and recommend
cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare administrative and
performance reports and provide regular updates to the Medical Director.
- Collaborate with the Marketing
team to plan and coordinate outreach programmes, community engagement
initiatives, and activities that enhance the hospital's visibility and
support business growth.
- Oversee the administration of
contracts with clients, vendors, suppliers, and service providers,
including contract implementation, monitoring, renewal, and compliance
with agreed terms.
- Ensure compliance with
healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, health and safety
requirements, and internal policies.
- Lead service quality
initiatives by monitoring patient feedback, resolving administrative
complaints, and driving continuous improvement.
- Maintain and oversee the
hospital's patient and corporate client records to support effective
communication, feedback management, and the timely resolution of client
concerns.
- Build and maintain effective
relationships with regulatory authorities, suppliers, contractors, and
other key stakeholders.
- Work closely with departmental
heads to ensure administrative functions effectively support the
hospital's clinical services and strategic objectives.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in
Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public
Administration, or a related field.
- A postgraduate
qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public
Administration, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of
healthcare regulations and quality standards in Ghana.
- Minimum of four (4)
years' experience in hospital administration, healthcare management, or a
similar role.
- At least one (1) year of
supervisory or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience
managing administrative and support services within a healthcare environment.
- Experience in
procurement, facilities management, regulatory compliance, budgeting, and
service quality management will be an advantage.
- Excellent organizational
and time management skills.
