Summary Generated by Built In

The Homeowner Recruitment Specialist advances Austin Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership recruitment strategy by developing employer and workforce partnerships, expanding awareness of affordable homeownership opportunities, and generating and nurturing a strong pipeline of prospective homeowner leads.

This position specializes in employer-based workforce recruitment, building relationships with human resource departments, large employers, healthcare systems, medical schools, labor unions, skilled trades organizations, educational institutions, and other workforce partners to connect individuals and families with Austin Habitat’s homeownership opportunities.

Through targeted outreach, employer presentations, information sessions, referral channels and recruitment communications, the Homeowner Recruitment Specialist moves interested prospects from initial awareness and inquiry toward readiness for referral to Client Services. This role collaborates closely with Client Services to ensure prospective homeowners receive accurate program information and experience a clear, timely handoff when they are ready to begin the application process.
In addition to collaboration within the Marketing & Communication department, this role works with other internal teams to align recruitment efforts with program capacity and organizational priorities and to measure and continually improve the effectiveness of homeowner recruitment strategies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute targeted recruitment strategies to grow the prospective homeowner pipeline through partnerships with large employers, HR departments, healthcare systems, medical schools, labor unions, trade organizations, educational institutions, and other workforce partners throughout Austin Habitat for Humanity’s five-county service area.
  • Research, identify, prospect, develop, and maintain employer and workforce partnerships, prioritizing organizations and outreach opportunities that have the potential to connect prospective homeowners with Austin Habitat’s Homeownership Program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employer partners to promote homeownership opportunities through employee newsletters, intranets, staff meetings, benefits programming, lunch-and-learn sessions, presentations, information sessions, and other appropriate channels.
  • Generate prospective homeowner leads through employer partnerships, workforce relationships, targeted outreach, events, referrals, and other recruitment channels.
  • Develop and execute lead-nurture activities, including timely follow-up communications, informational resources, reminders, and other approved engagement strategies designed to move interested prospects toward readiness for referral to Client Services.
  • Provide prospective homeowners with accurate, approved information regarding Austin Habitat’s Homeownership Program, general program requirements, and application process. Refer individual eligibility determinations, application-specific questions, and case management needs to Client Services.
  • Establish and follow a consistent handoff process with Client Services, ensuring prospective homeowners receive clear next steps and relevant lead information is accurately documented before referral.
  • Leverage the Homeowner Ambassador Program as a recruitment channel by coordinating with the program owner on appropriate outreach opportunities, responding to prospective homeowner referrals, and tracking leads and referral outcomes.
  • Identify barriers to homeowner awareness and engagement and recommend recruitment and outreach strategies that help connect prospective homeowners with affordable homeownership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop and maintain recruitment materials, presentations, email templates, FAQs, digital resources, and other tools consistent with organizational messaging, brand standards, and current program requirements, including bilingual and culturally responsive outreach as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Client Services and other internal teams to align recruitment activities with program capacity, homeowner needs, recruitment goals, and organizational priorities.
  • Represent Austin Habitat for Humanity at employer meetings, workforce events, presentations, information sessions, and other relevant recruitment and outreach opportunities.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records of employer and workforce partnerships, outreach activities, information-session participation, referral sources, prospective homeowner leads, follow-up activities, and Client Services handoffs in the organization’s designated database.
  • Maintain accurate lead-source attribution to determine which employer partnerships, referral sources, events, presentations, and outreach strategies produce meaningful prospect engagement and successful Client Services handoffs.
  • Track and report recruitment performance, including employer and workforce partnerships established, outreach activities, referrals and leads generated, lead engagement, successful Client Services handoffs, and lead-to-handoff conversion. Monitor downstream application activity in partnership with Client Services to evaluate lead quality and recruitment-channel effectiveness without owning application completion or eligibility determination.
  • Provide regular recruitment and pipeline updates to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, identifying trends, partnership performance, barriers, and opportunities to improve recruitment effectiveness.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
