In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead marketing, sales and proposal related activities to products, systems, and services solution creation within the defined industry segment(s), for the assigned area and ensures that the division and related sales units substantially improve their sales, margins, market share, and customer satisfaction in the selected market segments. You will develop and support a market-based strategy including direct, third party, and project sales support. You will also drive and enhance cross-division and cross-region business-led collaborations for the specific market segment.
The work model for the role is hybrid (Office and Home)This role is responsible for driving the growth and market expansion of the Hoisting Solutions segment across North Americas by developing strategic sales initiatives, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.
You will be mainly accountable for
- Creates, implements, and reviews industry segment strategy for the assigned area.
- Leads the process to define the industry group footprint that covers market presence, execution standards, and delivery model.
- Drives and ensures profitable growth by focusing on market penetration, innovation, and expansion activities.
- Defines key targets (e.g., volume, prices, portfolio mix) and ensures they are achieved for the assigned segment(s).
- Leads the team of pre-sale hoisting specialist to create customer specific solutions, commercial and technical proposal
- Populate the risk review database with accurate information with support from the team.
- Prepare and present risk review presentations to the local and global management teams.
- Drives the revenue growth of the top line in the target industry segment.
- Leads and manages the segment team members and reinforces global sales efficiency and performance.
- Builds relationships with key external influencers/key customers and leverages ABB’s strengths to capture new business opportunities.
- Drives and ensures knowledge sharing and cross-division and cross-country collaborations.
- Activates operation intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify industry segment trends, practices, product gaps, competitor strategy, etc.
- Ensures ABB’s value proposition for the target segment is developed and well-communicated, both internally and externally.
- Supports Sales organizations to ensure they are positively perceived in the target segment(s).
- Reinforces ABB’s visibility in the target segment(s) by strengthening external market segment communication, in coordination with the Marketing Communication team and by participating in dedicated customer events and segment trade fairs.
- Feeds back to the divisions on market developments and requirements.
- Ensures that the major accounts in the segments are identified and prioritized.
- Maps market requirements and opportunities to actions for ABB and coordinates with divisions, sales units, and other relevant teams to implement them.
- Ensures the team is well prepared and has the necessary internal support to pursue and manage large project contracts.
- Identifies and manages risks related to market trends, contract agreements, and pricing across segments.
- Uses standard reporting tools to accurately identify future opportunities and measure the segment-wise progress.
- Promotes and enables collaboration in the division, across divisions, business areas, and teams to maximize results for ABB.
- Provides guidance to the teams and seeks knowledge for their own development and coaching/mentoring of the teams where needed.
- Builds effective, competent, and high-performing teams.
- Reviews organizational effectiveness and performs competence assessments and continuous skill upgrades.
Qualifications for the role
- You are driven and passionate about providing customers with innovative and value-added hoisting solutions that improve safety, productivity, reliability, and operational performance.
- You possess a strong customer-centric sales mindset with a proven ability to identify business opportunities, develop strategic account plans, and achieve or exceed revenue and profitability targets across North America.
- You have 8+ years of experience in industrial sales, business development, product management, or related commercial leadership roles, within the North America Hoisting industry segment.
- You thrive on understanding the NAM Hoisting needs and positioning solutions to meet those needs.
- Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in the Mining Industry.
- You are at ease communicating in English in order to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
