As a critical member of the patient care team, the HIV Retention Nurse is responsible for providing age appropriate care to patients in his/her practice setting.

Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of and willingness to learn and continue with education on HIV/AIDS and commitment to working with others to improve HIV care.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data relative to the patient’s status
- Ability to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his/her specific age.
- Ability to provide the care needed as described in the patient policies and procedures.
- Effectively uses Electronic Medical Records
- Demonstrates flexibility when responding to change. Assumes accountability for all actions
What you’ll need:
- Current MA RN license or completion of a formal education program in practical nursing. BSN Preferred.
- Current state licensure/BLS Certified (with AED). Responsible for keeping certification current.
- 1-2 years experience performed in a physician's office or community health setting.
- Minimum one year MED/SURG experience desirable.
- Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese skills preferred.
- IV experience preferred.

Skills Required
