This position is remote and supports enterprise architecture.
Designs, implements and manages highly integrated complex systems in support of the organization's strategic and tactical objectives. Researches, designs, implements and supports databases, server infrastructures, storage environments and related technology platforms and software solutions to achieve a high level of stability and high performance in support of the various business applications. Engages in multiple projects and efforts of the highest complexity, cost, risk, duration and impact to the business. Works closely with internal partners, external vendors and affiliates as required, and management/peers to implement and administer complex systems that support caregiver and patient systems. Provides technical insight on potential impact of other technologies on implemented systems and finds solutions to ensure system uptime is achieved without exception.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and insight on the design and implementation of strategic projects that are supported by the server, database, and storage infrastructure, consults with end users, clients and senior management to define business requires for complex systems and infrastructure design. Ensures that proposed or existing infrastructure systems are aligned with organizational goals and objectives to meet or exceed business requirements.
- Conducts research on emerging technologies in support of cost effectiveness and system reliability. Develops documents and provides justification for plans to invest in infrastructure or system software required to manage the systems supported.
- Provides expertise and knowledge transfer on complex systems to increase support capabilities and awareness, provides direction and/or facilitation to other engineers or administrators as necessary to achieve organizational objectives.
- Conceptualizes, designs and implements strategies for supported technologies and the integration with other technologies within the information technology environment. Participates actively and is a standing member on the committee that provides technical insight on highly complex projects being implemented or considered for implementation at Advocate Aurora Health.
- Leads efforts with peers/management to identify short team and long-term capacity/performance needs, works in a proactive manner towards established stability goals and champions the lifecycle management of supported systems as to maintain stability and availability objectives.
- Interprets internal and external challenges and recommends solutions and best practices to improve Advocate Aurora Health’s infrastructure and increase performance and reliability. Works with leadership to proactively identify opportunities or new technologies and provides oversight of strategic initiatives.
- Leads and or participates in formal process improvement efforts. Ensures information technology is configured to provide maximum efficiency to caregivers.
- Performs technical based activities, contributing to and managing projects and provides advice and direction on Advocate Aurora Health’s engineered infrastructure. Serves as the technical expert and supports project management efforts with the ability to manage/mitigate risk, create communication plans, propose implementation strategies and manage work plans and scope.
- Provides workflow analysis for all engineered systems and process redesign recommendations. Mentors staff and guides and leads others in resolving complex infrastructure issues.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Information Technology.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 7 years of experience in Information Technology or related field.

- Able to influence and direct work teams. Strong mentoring and knowledge transfer capabilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, set appropriate priorities and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely manner.

- Primarily remote
- Generally exposed to a normal office environment. Sits most of the workday, but also may lift, reach, and bend throughout the day.
