As the Hiring Manager for a Build-A-Bear for a premier location, you’ll play a key role in building a high-performing team from the ground up. You will lead the full hiring journey from workforce planning through onboarding – ensuring every hire is a strong fit for both the role and the culture. Your ability to attract top candidates, create a positive candidate experience, and set the tone for a positive, high-energy workplace will be essential to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire recruitment process for store location, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring
- Ensure new hires are effectively onboarded and clearly understand their roles and responsibilities
- Identify and nurture talent within the store, providing opportunities for growth and development
- Partner with store leadership to align hiring strategies with business goals
- Ensure all hiring practices comply with company policies and legal requirements
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and provide regular reports to senior management
- Amplify the brand as an employer of choice by leveraging social media and community engagement
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years store manager experience
- Skilled Microsoft Office
- Skilled in ATS and HRIS systems
- Skilled with using job boards and social media platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- UKG experience

Working Environment:
- Active retail store management requires the ability to sit, stand, and move around for at least eight hours a day
- Work environment includes a three-level outdoor free-standing building
- Will need to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to work a typical retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Lifting > 25 pounds
