The HIM Operations Administrator assists in the development and evolution of the overall strategy for the Franciscan Alliance HIM Division operations. This position provides oversight to the Manager HIM Operations and Manager HIM Chart Completion on document imaging processes for all system hospitals and joint ventures and workflow, while being mindful of corporate HIM strategy and direction. These processes include but are not limited to prepping, scanning, and indexing medical record documents, medical record completion, DNB escalation functions, record retention and destruction, regulatory/accreditation compliance, medical record integrity; confidentiality and security; electronic health record content, build, workflow. This position also participates in corporate projects.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Interacts and communicates with Information Technology management to ensure optimal use of installed technology, identification of future needs and assistance with system updates.
Assists in HIM updates, enhancements, and implementation of new technology.
Collaborates and acts as a resource to HIM Manager to promote standardization, implementation of best practice, automation and system enhancements.
Provides oversight for all hospital and JV HIM responsibilities and system administrative functions according to established workflow guidelines.
Understands integration efforts and participates in document mapping, content, and maintenance of the Electronic Health Record.
Assesses and makes recommendations on HIM operational workflows, drives standardization, and identifies process improvement opportunities through continuous monitoring and feedback gained through coworker focus groups, department meetings, engagement surveys.
Prepares for external agency reviews of all hospitals and JVs; ensures HIM compliance with relevant accreditation, certification, and government agencies.
Formulates action plans related to accreditation survey findings, monitoring, and implementing required workflow changes to comply with standards.
Develops policies, procedures, and guidelines for health information standard compliance for all hospitals and joint ventures and collaborates with clinical areas on policies for standards which cross accreditation manual chapters.
Participates in all system wide accreditation preparation meetings and engages in region/ministry specific accreditation initiatives.
Research new and revised regulatory agency requirements, implementing necessary changes for ongoing compliance and assist in promoting a survey-ready culture.
Participates in Medical Staff and system Quality/Information Management committees requiring HIM attendance, submits required reports and presents relevant data.
Develops and submits metrics and quality measures in compliance with each facility's Quality Improvement Plan and provides required evaluations related to contracted services quarterly, or within the established timeline.
Provides input into departmental budget development. Identifies and recommends budget items.
Works with stakeholders to develop, monitor, and optimize process performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree - Required
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
5 years Health Information Management, Multi-Facility Experience - Required
3 years Electronic Health Record (EHR) - Required
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Required
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) - Required
