- Must be able to work independently and interact professionally with public, physicians and hospital personnel. This position requires the following abilities: critical thinking skills to identify and locate information maintained in various mediums and locations, knowledge of medical record forms and documentation requirements, understanding of patient information and process flow in an acute care environment, ability to use critical thinking skills to problem solve, must be able to read, understand and reiterate regulatory requirements, must be able to respond correctly to a multitude of information requests, must be able to respond quickly to stat requests, must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- This position works closely with a variety of customers including but not limited to hospital and department staff, the public and members of the Medical Staff and must be able to instruct and provide feedback in a positive and constructive manner and diplomatically deal with uncomfortable issues.
- The employee communicates effectively. This position requires high level communication skills to be able to train new and existing staff in various procedures, explain complex regulatory requirements to providers and other staff members, and to interact with unhappy customers in an effective, friendly and appropriate manner.
