Cottage Health seeks a HIM Identity Specialist for their CH Health Information Management department responsible for providing support to the HIM Department and Members of the Medical Staff to ensure the electronic legal patient medical record and demographic data meets regulatory requirements and supports high quality patient care by being legible, complete and accurate. Assists with general duties as needed to ensure information is easily accessible and available in a timely manner to authorized users and protected health information is maintained in a confidential manner. Supports patients with ensuring complete and accurate birth certificate data and timely filing of paternity documents.

Education:
- Minimum: Proof of completion of at least the first year of a formal education program in Health Information Management.
- Preferred: Completion of certification or degree program in Health Information management.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Preferred: RHIT.
Technical Requirements:
- Minimum: Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills. Knowledge of health information, multiple MRNs, breaches, and medical terminology.
Years of Related Work Experience:
- Minimum: Three (3) years of health information experience in chart analysis, correction, duplicate record or completion of formal education program in HIM. Experience in healthcare/medical office environment to include working with an EHR and/or Release of Patient Information.
- Preferred: Four (4) years of experience related to birth registry and MPI management.
Skills Required
- Proof of completion of at least the first year of a formal education program in Health Information Management
- Completion of certification or degree program in Health Information Management
- RHIT certification
