This is an onsite position at Providence Alaska Children's Hospital.
As our HIM Associate, you will deliver exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and customers while upholding the utmost confidentiality for all patients. Your daily tasks will involve preparing, scanning, and organizing medical record information to ensure the completion of health information and data. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate and confidential health records.
To thrive in this position, you will need to be detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about handling sensitive information. You’ll use your prior experience with navigating multiple systems to collect patient information and enter it into multiple computer systems. You’ll use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to answer questions from patients as well as physicians and their staff.
Here’s what you will experience working as an HIM Associate:

Prepping, scanning, indexing, and quality control validation of all medical record documents and images.

Performs multiple computer-systems entries in a competent and compliant manner to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of patient medical records.

Resolves errors related to electronic misfiles and system interface issues and troubleshoots office equipment mechanical issues as they arise.

Collaborates and coordinates with patients, clinicians, and other customers to provide professional level support and services for the retrieval and handling of medical records.

Complies with all applicable laws and guidelines related to patient confidentiality and the proper handling and disposal of patient medical records.

Promotes a positive team environment and utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve team objectives, goals, and assignments.

Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient / customer experience.
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $14.69 - $20.28 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
