As our HIM Associate II, you will deliver exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and payors while upholding the utmost confidentiality for all patients. Your daily tasks will involve preparing, scanning, and organizing medical record information to ensure the completion of health information and data. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate and confidential health records. The successful candidate must be flexible with working schedule covering two HIM sites and have high attention to detail and strong data entry skills.
To thrive in this position, you will need to be detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about handling sensitive information. You’ll use your prior experience with navigating multiple systems to collect patient information and enter it into multiple computer systems. You’ll use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to answer questions from patients as well as physicians and their staff.
Here’s what you will expect working as our HIM Associate:
Perform timely daily prepping and scanning of the patient medical record, maintaining high quality standards.
Performs quality audits verifying the accuracy of the legal medical record, navigating between multiple medical systems to verify the completeness of the medical records.
Performs a variety of general office duties, filing, printing, faxing, answer incoming phone calls and assisting customers.
Able to meet and/or exceeds productivity and quality standards related to prepping, scanning, and indexing of paper documents
Contacts physicians as needed for missing patient documentation for chart completion.
Assist with Physician Relinquishment (Suspension) and DNFB (Discharged Not Final Bill) functions including obtaining documentation needed for coding/billing.
Performs specific areas of responsibility with delinquency/deficiency monitoring, data integrity, and regulatory standards compliance.
