Reviews physician record deficiencies, operative report dictation, and incomplete medical records. Generates completion statistics, sends physician notifications, follows up on outstanding records, and trains physicians on EMR use. Manages ROI vendor mail, processes release-of-information requests, performs supervised record reviews, handles calls, and participates in performance improvement activities.

 Job Specific Competencies: 

Conducts Physician deficiency reanalysis review. 

Reviews timely dictation of operative reports on a daily basis. 

Generates statistics for incomplete/delinquent medical records. 

Sends notifications to physicians regarding record completion. 

Follow-up on with physician on outstanding record completion issues. 

Conducts Physician training on the EMR and record completion. 

Manages mail for the ROI Vendor. 

Processes all release of information requests for the Business Office. 

Conducts record review under the supervision of the HIM Supervisor. 

Handles incoming calls. 

Processes requests for release of information for patients and physicians when
 applicable 

Participates in Performance Improvement activities. 

Performs other duties as assigned 


Education & Experience Requirements:  

· High School Diploma or equivalent.  

· Must have a minimum of one-year experience
 working in an acute care hospital or physician’s office.  

· Must have working knowledge of computer database
 applications.  

· Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred. Must
 demonstrate attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve. Must possess
 excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
