Job Summary
The sky is no longer the limit as Nidec takes its technology off the ground and into the Aerospace market. As a HIL (Hardware in the Loop) Development Engineer/Test Engineer with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to design electric propulsion systems for battery-powered aircraft that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B.

Job Description
As a HIL Development Engineer within the Nidec Aerospace business unit, you will be playing a crucial role in developing software solutions for Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing, including data acquisition tools, user interfaces, test automation, and data analysis.
As a HIL Development Engineer, you will be also responsible for the requirements specification of test bench software and modeling solutions, including technical documentation to support tools qualification.
This individual is responsible for:

Gathering test requirements from the engineering function, determining the best software and automation solutions to meet system V&V needs.

Specify, design, develop, and subsequent operation of HIL test benches (Rigs) for equipment to system level.

Lead development of software and modeling solutions for test HIL test benches (Rigs), including DAQ, HMI, test automation and data analysis.

Produce technical documentation to support test benches V&V including compliance with software tool validation standards (DO-330)
Technical Attributes and Required Experience:
-
Proficiency in developing complex applications using LabVIEW or Matlab/Simuling to develop closed and open loop real-time test systems.

Proficiency to write and integrate code in Python or C/C++ for system control, data processing, and enhancing Labview/Matlab applications with additional functionalities.

Knowledge of aerospace/automotive communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC664, CAN and related tools to measure and command signals, through scripting.

Familiarity with version control tools, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and other software development tools to ensure robust and maintainable code.
Preferred:

Familiarity with Reflective Memory real-time data sharing.

Familiarity with Software tools qualification for aviation purposes (DO-330)

Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORs, JAMA, Windchill
Minimum Requirements:

BS in Electronics, Computer, or Aerospace Engineering or a similar area of study

Five (5) years of experience with Hardware in the Loop real-time systems such as National Instruments, Speedgoat, RT-Opal or dSPACE.
