Position Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity to lead an engineering team to engineer modern solutions across a breadth of platforms and technologies supporting a business that’s core to Cigna’s and Evernorth’s strategy?

We’re looking for a leader that will be responsible for leading a shared services and engineering organization within Provider Technology in our Hyderabad Center to deliver on strategic business capabilities as well as modernize the current solution. This role will be responsible for production support, quality engineering and scrum master practices in the HIH Center for Provider Technology.

As a Data Engineering Senior Manager, you will build and manage a world-class engineering, production support and scrum master team of 50 - 70 resources with the goal of creating next-generation capabilities that will help make Cigna the undisputed health partner of choice. You will work in an agile environment leading a team of data engineers and managers, delivering user-oriented products in a fast–paced environment.
Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain relationships with internal Provider Technology customers.

• Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for engineering teams.

• Align engineering initiatives with business objectives and ensure timely delivery.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Develop and manage team strategy:

o Hire and retain strong talent.

o Develop existing talent into full stack engineers. o Inspire engineering teams to take risks and manage them.

o Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

o Understand Cigna's strategic and competitive position striving to tie team efforts to the same.

• Provide direction regarding technical requirements.

. Find opportunities to drive modernization and scalability of tools, technologies, and techniques.

• Enforce modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/testdriven development.

• Responsible for the agile operational excellence of their team members.

• Manage end-to-end delivery of complex projects using Agile methodologies.

• Implement robust CI/CD pipelines (excluding Jenkins; prefer modern tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).

• Drive automation for infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.

• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business leaders to prioritize features.

• Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Experience & Education:

• 13-16 years of professional experience.

• 4+ years of management experience.

• Strong proficiency in Java and Python for backend and data engineering.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, etc.).

• Knowledge of Databricks for big data and analytics workflows.

• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines using modern tools.

• Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

• Hands on experience engineering/developing modern on-prem/cloud solutions.

• Experience with CI/CD tooling.

• Experience with Agile.
