Job Summary:
This position is located in Laredo, Texas - We are seeking a proficient Dispatcher to join our team at Alliance Shippers. This role is key to coordinating the movement of freight, managing driver schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while effectively communicating with customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in trucking or the intermodal industry and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Preferably bilingual (Spanish, English).
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
- Monitor and track the status of shipments and deliveries.
- Communicate proactively with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders regarding updates and issues.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment details.
- Coordinate with third parties to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
- Handle urgent situations and provide solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Utilize dispatch software and other tools to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Address customer inquiries professionally and promptly, maintaining positive relationships and high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests from management.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and customer service.
- Run and send shipment reports to customers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration required, with a concentration in logistics, supply chain, or international business preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience.
- Skills:
- Experience Profit Tools (transportation management system)
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Diligence with a high degree of accuracy.
- Preferably bilingual (Spanish, English)
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
