What We Are Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage construction and electrical installation activities for the Aguirre Project. This role is a key leadership position within the Operations organization and will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, supervising field execution, and ensuring the successful delivery of project milestones.

The ideal candidate is a licensed or degreed Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineer with at least 15 years of professional experience, including significant experience managing large‑scale construction, electrical installation, and fiber optic projects.

Success in the first 12 months includes establishing strong coordination among stakeholders, maintaining schedule and budget discipline, delivering major construction and electrical installation milestones, enforcing a strong safety culture, and driving the project through installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout with excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, manage, and execute all construction and electrical installation activities for the Aguirre Project.
  • Oversee daily project operations, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans, specifications, codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including electrical, civil, mechanical, structural, telecommunications, and fiber optic disciplines.
  • Supervise subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation across all relevant disciplines.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, manpower planning, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain project milestones.
  • Conduct and participate in construction, coordination, and progress meetings with the Executive Management, Engineer, Contractor, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture throughout the project.
  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance activities including inspections, testing, punch‑list resolution, and project closeout.
  • Perform other tasks as required by management to support project execution, operational needs, and organizational objectives.
  • Assist with special assignments, field coordination activities, and cross‑functional initiatives as directed.
  • Provide support in resolving unforeseen project issues, stakeholder requests, or urgent operational priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in construction management and field execution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing electrical construction and installation projects (substations, power generation, transmission/distribution, or industrial electrical infrastructure).
  • Experience with fiber optic installation, communications systems, cable installation, testing, termination, and commissioning.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple construction disciplines, subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and field personnel.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction practices, installation methods, testing, commissioning, and applicable industry standards and codes.
  • Ability to interpret and review electrical, civil, mechanical, structural, telecommunications, and fiber optic drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, manpower, procurement, subcontractors, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Ability to monitor construction progress, identify potential delays or conflicts, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience conducting and/or participating in construction meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, and technical discussions.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety requirements and ability to promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
  • Experience with quality control/quality assurance programs, inspections, testing, punch‑list activities, and project closeout.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a field‑based construction environment and coordinate activities among multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience with power generation plants, substations, high‑voltage electrical systems, or utility infrastructure.
  • Experience working on projects for electric utilities or power generation facilities.
  • Experience with LUMA, PREPA, Genera, or similar utility/industrial clients.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent scheduling platforms.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.

Field conditions may vary, requiring adaptability, strong leadership, and consistent communication to maintain momentum and deliver high‑quality results aligned with project objectives.
