Position Overview: Identify, recruit and enroll prospective students in the programs available at the University and develop, grow and nurture relationships with local high schools (DCPS, charter and private schools).  


Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Communication Management: Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  2. Policy Adherence and Ethical Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.
  3. University Engagement: Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student orientation, university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.
  4. Special Projects: Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.
  5. Compliance Adherence: Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules and Regulation, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  6. Assigned Duties: Undertake other assigned duties as required.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the University's admissions policies and procedures, including program requirements, tuition and fees, and class schedules, and apply them consistently to student enrollments.
  2. Obtain a thorough understanding of the University's objectives, requirements, and program content to provide accurate and complete information to prospective students.
  3. Identify, recruit and enroll prospective students by conducting interviews with them and parents to provide program information and requirements, by assessing prospective student post-secondary education needs, and by finishing the enrollment process as appropriate.
  4. Work closely with students to identify, refine, assess, and determine their educational and career goals, providing ongoing advisement.
  5. Facilitates the student enrollment process by interacting and collaborating with the academic/administrative units of the institution. 
  6. Organize, maintain, and update all student admissions information in the database, as well as in the student’s file. 
  7. Complete and process all enrollment documents and ensure the student’s file meets audit requirements standards.
  8. Serve as the University liaison with the Miami Dade & Broward County Public Schools System.
  9. Establish partnerships with local high schools and institutions of higher learning in Miami Dade and Broward counties.
  10. Communicate with the students on a regular basis and follow ups to support the prospective student with their enrollment process.
  11. Conduct tours of the university for prospective students and parents.
  12. Participate in recruiting activities such as University fairs, career days, education fairs, festivals, and any other activities to promote, develop and maximize enrollment opportunities. This activity may fall on any day including weekends and after regular work hours.
  13. Plan, organize, and implement special events, manage college communications, and act as the high school liaison for outreach and recruitment.
  14. Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, teachers, and administrators.
  15. Collaborate with college admissions offices to facilitate student transitions from high school to college.
  16. Support first-generation college students and underrepresented groups in accessing higher education.
  17. Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to assist students with college applications, essays, and interviews.
  18. Develop and implement programs that promote college readiness and awareness among high school students.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s, or master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred.
  • Previous experience in education, counseling, or college admissions is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the college admissions process and financial aid options.
  • Knowledge in sales techniques, public speaking and public presentation.
  • Knowledge of public and private secondary and post-secondary educational systems.
  • English/Spanish required

Schedule:

  • Monday - Thursday: 2 days from 8:00am to 5:00pm and 2 days from 12:00pm to 9:00pm 
  • *Fridays alternate (campus closes at 7pm) (8:00am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 7:00pm)
