The Product Development Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the development of new products from concept to creation. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong sense of design and crafting knowledge/understanding. Key Responsibilities

Responsibility

  • Collaborates with the Product Development Coordinator to understand and interpret product concepts.

  • Develops poly, cushions, and cutting patterns with precision and efficiency.

  • Makes and maintains product specifications for each new style.

  • Works with outside vendors to coordinate product materials for new styles and one-time customs.

  • Conduct thorough quality assessment at each stage of the development process to ensure adherence to design standards and specifications.

  • Stays abreast of industry trends, materials, and techniques to continually enhance product quality and innovation.

  • Works closely with each department to ensure seamless execution of the product.

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to production teams to resolve any issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.

Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills:

  • Must be able to work thoughtfully and thoroughly with continuous attention to detail

  • Must be able to read and interpret CAD drawings.

  • The ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for up to eight hours or more daily

  • Ability to learn quickly and retain a wide range of small details concerning multiple product types, tasks, system processes, issues, and/or projects

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Comfortable multi-tasking, or, pivoting between tasks as the need arises

  • Willingness to learn new products, procedures, and processes as business needs change

  • A friendly attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and be a team player and stay self-motivated in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers

Experience/Certifications/Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have 3 - 5 years of experience with High-end Upholstered Furniture Pattern making.

  • None

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily.

  • Requires lifting 0-25 lbs continuously, 25-50 lbs occasionally.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience with high-end upholstered furniture pattern making
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings
  • Strong design sense and furniture crafting knowledge
  • Ability to work with continuous attention to detail
