Position Summary:
As the Head of Vision Intelligence in SRA AI Center in Mountain View, which is part of the Global AI Center of Samsung Research, this position is responsible for directing the research and development of Computer Vision technology to contribute critical business needs for Samsung Electronics.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead AI core technology research and development in order to prepare company’s future and differentiate current business
- Together with Samsung Research teams, look for opportunities to revolutionize Samsung products with the new AI technology
- Ensure that Centers publish at top conferences and journals (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, and similar), satisfy patents & paper goals and organize scientific events (conferences, workshops and challenges)
Required Skills:
- PhD degree and 12+ years’ work experience in Computer Vision related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Understanding of state-of-the-art Computer Vision theories, techniques, optimization strategies (Generative AI Engine & Applications, Image Processing/Search/Generation, Image/Video related solution)
- Industry experience leading innovative projects in research environments
- Strong communication skills with Samsung’s global R&D teams and Interpersonal skills to manage centers consisting of engineers and researchers
- Experience and success technically leading teams of machine learning/computer vision specialists, CV-related product development, problem solving and algorithm with deep learning frameworks
- Strong background in programming
- Publications in CV-related fields (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, and etc.) (Nice to have)
