As the Head of UX/UI, you will lead a talented team of designers who play a critical role in shaping our software products. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and cross-functional Scrum teams to create exceptional user experiences. Your responsibilities will span from strategic planning to hands-on design guidance, ensuring that our products are intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centric.

Location: Marcoussis (FR) or London (UK).

Responsibilities

Drive the UX/UI design practice

  • Product Discovery and Design: Work closely with Product Owners to understand business goals, user needs, and technical constraints. Translate these insights into innovative design concepts and wireframes.
  • User research: Conduct user research, usability testing, and persona development together with the Product Management teams to inform design decisions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs. Bridge the gap between design and development, advocating for design consistency and feasibility.
  • Design Systems: facilitate the maintenance and use of L-Acoustics design system, ensuring consistent visual language and interaction patterns across our software products. Ensure an efficient use of the design system by the different Scrum Teams.
  • Strategic Vision: Develop a long-term UX/UI strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Impact Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators related to user satisfaction, usability, and design quality through software telemetry or other data available.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Manage a team of UX/UI designers active across various Scrum teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative environment, allowing team members to thrive and grow.
  • Evaluate individual performance and provide regular feedback.
  • Develop and mentor team members.

Working as part of a global team

  • Lead and Manage stakeholder communication and requirements.
  • Interface with Project Teams to ensure clear and timely communication of project deliverables and status.
  • Communicate if deliverables cannot be attained and get consensus on steps forward with relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish close working relationships with discipline leads.
  • Report status at regular intervals, escalate urgent issues in a timely manner.
  • Champion the UX/UI practice with upper management. Present design concepts, influence decisions, and communicate the value of design methodologies. Advocate for user experience excellence at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years experience in UX/UI design, with a track record of successful software product launches.
  • Leadership Skills: proven leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and guide a team toward excellence.
  • Design Proficiency: advanced knowledge of Figma, knowledge of other tools (sketch, Adobe Suite) a plus.
  • Design Management strategy : knowledge of design operations management for multiple products.
  • UX Methodology and design process: advanced knowledge.
  • User Research: Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing. 
  • Agile/Scrum: Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align design efforts with business goals.
  • Experience in an international environment
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business field: Experience with designing audio products.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with software development processes and industry trends.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your design work and problem-solving abilities, illustrating topics / problems / design solutions / impact.
