Head of Treasury

Mysten Labs believes that decentralized and open protocols are the bedrock of the internet of value. This is why at Mysten Labs, we are creating foundational infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of decentralized protocols based on blockchain technologies.

Mysten Labs is seeking a Head of Treasury to help set and execute a liquidity management strategy and oversee its treasury reserves. This role will report to the Director of Operations and Finance and work closely with the Walrus and Sui Foundations, as well as the executive team. 

What You'll Do

• Design and implement liquidity management strategies for various crypto reserves.

• Work across orgs to understand future liquidity needs and manage short and long term funding strategies. 

• Establish processes around forecasting and reporting capital, and constant evaluation of strategies and risk management. 

• Vet and manage relationships with various third party vendors including banks, market makers, trading desks, exchanges and defi protocols. 

• Work closely with the finance and legal  teams to understand tax implications of treasury positions. 

• Develop strong risk management policies. 

• Identify opportunities to automate various treasury processes, use new technologies or work with internal teams to build custom tooling to best accomplish company goals.

• Help build processes to assess return on investment across various uses of funds within the company: grants, investments, credits. 

What You'll Have: 

• At least 5-8 years of treasury management or finance experience.

• Strong background in crypto asset management, specifically trading. 

• Ability to work and lead projects cross functionally. 

• Expertise in financial modelling and forecasting and explaining concepts across orgs.

• Innate desire to google and figure out how to do new things. Crypto is constantly evolving and our teams are endlessly adaptable to new products and technologies. Our team is entirely people who say “yeah let me take a crack at it” no matter how complex or novel the task.
