About Confusion Capital:
Confusion Capital operates as the treasury management organization for the Reserve ecosystem. In this role, Confusion Capital is charged with managing a large treasury to provide for operations, grants, research, and other public good funding. Role Summary:
As the Head of Treasury, you will oversee all treasury management decisions and instruct our financial operations team member on how to manage our capital. This includes identifying, analyzing, and accepting or discarding capital allocation opportunities and optimizing strategies and trades.
You’ll report to the Chief of Staff and will need to be familiar with and contribute to our future financial plans in order to make informed capital allocation decisions. In addition to seeking returns, we’ll rely on you to carefully manage risks and minimize losses. You’ll need to analyze risks and returns across the spectrum from bank accounts and treasury bills to cryptoassets and DeFi positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all domestic and international treasury operations, including the preparation of cash and RSR forecasts, ensuring Confusion Capital has the liquidity to meet its current and future obligations.
- Become intimately familiar with the market dynamics of Reserve’s governance token, RSR, and decide, with input from management, when it’s appropriate to buy or sell.
- Oversee short-term investment portfolios to optimize returns while ensuring liquidity needs are met.
- Develop a capital allocation process, including data gathering, analysis, and preparation and presentation of monthly reporting materials for management.
- Develop, build, and maintain financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives, business decisions, and financing transactions.
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks including interest rate, exchange, and liquidity risks.
- Develop and implement contingency plans for managing financial crises, including liquidity shortages and market disruptions.
- Advocate best practices in Treasury Management and Reporting, including systems to facilitate smooth fund movements within the group.
- Provide strategic input on financial planning, capital structure, and funding strategies to support business growth and expansion.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance and treasury operations with a track record of increased responsibilities
- Familiarity with financial instruments, credit facilities and treasury best practices
- Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing startup environment
- Solid judgment and common sense
Nice to Haves
- MBA, CFA, and/or CTP certification
- A strong understanding of cryptocurrency is beneficial, but not essential
- Web3/DeFi background

What We Do
Reserve’s mission is to Increase adoption of & expand access to sustainable, inflation proof, stable currency.
Reserve is a free, permissionless platform on Ethereum mainnet to build, deploy and govern asset-backed currencies referred to as “RTokens.” RTokens are always 1:1 asset-backed, allowing for permissionless minting and redeeming on-chain by users without the need for any middlemen. Overcollateralization is provided by RSR governance token stakers. Each RToken can have an entirely different governance system and is governed separately by ecosystem stakers. The Reserve Protocol launched on Ethereum mainnet in Oct 2022 and completed its fifth audit in Feb 2023.
