About the role
This leadership role is responsible for driving asset management, innovation, and technology outcomes that support the safe and efficient operation of AGL’s Energy Assets fleet - the largest in the National Electricity Market.
Operating at the intersection of technology and asset operations, you’ll play a critical role in enabling AGL’s energy transition, including the shift toward renewables and firming capacity. You’ll lead strategy, build capability, and partner closely with stakeholders to deliver outcomes aligned to the broader Energy Assets and digital roadmap.
Please note, we are open to applicants based on the East Coast. This could be in major cities, or closer to AGL Assets.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead and execute the Energy Assets (EA) technology strategy aligned to business and digital roadmaps
Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Partner with EA stakeholders to deliver a strong, trusted business partnership and align technology to business priorities
Drive and mobilise technology initiatives across a portfolio, ensuring delivery aligns with strategic direction and best practice
Embed modern ways of working (e.g. agile, DevOps) to improve speed, quality, and cost of delivery
Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, translating trends into commercial and strategic opportunities
Manage demand, risk, and delivery pipeline while acting as a key escalation point for technology outcomes
What You’ll Bring
Significant leadership experience in complex IT/OT environments with a track record delivering strategic outcomes
Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies aligned to business priorities
Experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on both technical and people capability uplift
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels
Demonstrated success driving cultural change and embedding modern ways of working
Strong understanding of technology frameworks, trends, and enterprise delivery practices
Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, with a focus on safe and sustainable outcomes
