Responsibilities will include:

  • Technical lead for the architecture, design, implementation and test of an automated battery sorting system
  • People lead for a cross functional team of engineers with a focus on growing and mentoring engineers
  • Building a strong team and culture of safety, execution and innovation through data driven engineering
  • Collaborating with product, finance, operations and engineering teams to iterate on system requirements that make sense for the business, plant operators, and technical stakeholders for downstream battery consumption
  • Decision making for make versus buy for hardware and software components including but not limited to sensors, actuators, conveyer systems, ML infrastructure and compute systems
  • Requirements authorship for a reliable and accurate production sorting system
  • Own the technology roadmap for automated sorting systems at the company

 Desired Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Engineering, and 10+ years of engineering and engineering leadership experience in a fast paced, highly fluid environment
  • Proficiency across hardware and software stacks as applied in industries like robotics, vehicle automation, or factory automation
  • Well versed in all types of machine/automation components, sensors, vision systems, electro-mechanical actuators, motion control, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Environment, such as office or outdoors.
  • Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
  • Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
