About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and business-driven leader to take ownership of the PayBox business line within Verifone France. The Head of SMB will serve as the end-to-end business owner, responsible for defining the strategy, driving growth, and managing the overall P&L.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering and Customer Success) to ensure PayBox remains competitive, innovative, and aligned with client needs, while contributing to Verifone’s overall success in France and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Ownership & Strategy
- Act as the business owner for the PayBox business line, with full accountability for strategy, performance, and growth on the SMB Market (online and instore).
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap to make the Paybox offer evolve to a full service solution (acceptance + acquiring), ensuring alignment with Verifone France and global priorities.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to anticipate and adapt the business strategy.
P&L Management
- Own the PayBox P&L, ensuring revenue growth, profitability, and cost efficiency.
- Define pricing models, go-to-market approaches, and investment priorities.
- Report performance metrics and insights to the GM and executive leadership.
Commercial & Market Development
- Drive new client acquisition, retention, and expansion of PayBox solutions.
- Partner with Sales to design and execute effective go-to-market strategies.
- Strengthen PayBox’s positioning in the French payments and e-commerce market.
Product & Innovation
- Collaborate with Product Management to guide product roadmap and innovation, ensuring PayBox remains competitive in e-commerce and payment gateways.
- Identify opportunities for new features, services, and partnerships.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Lead a high-performing, cross-functional team dedicated to PayBox.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners on PayBox-related topics.
This role requires a combination of:
- Strategic vision
- Commercial expertise especially on SMB Market (online and instore)
- A deep understanding of payments: both acceptance and acquiring (full service)
- e-commerce and gateway solutions
- 10+ years in business leadership roles within payments, fintech, e-commerce, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of payment gateways, acquiring, and e-commerce ecosystems.
- Solid P&L ownership experience, with demonstrated ability to deliver growth and profitability.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial mindset and execution capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and influence across functions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing senior stakeholders.
- Fluency in French and English required
