You Will Be
- Managing a team of 35+ individuals with 5 direct reports
- Driving SEO and AI Search strategy with emphasis on holistic, scalable and innovative approach. Serve as agency lead for all SEO & AI Search POV’s
- Working directly with the Sales team to create sales materials and pitching to prospective clients
- Determining long term vision of the SEO department as well as continually innovating and staying ahead of the changing organic growth landscape. Spearhead the development of new service offerings.
- Providing growth mapping & goal setting, and performing annual formal performance reviews, while driving focus on our core values - cultivating curiosity, building connections, acting with respect, delivering excellence, and celebrating success.
- Overseeing SEO work for team and clients, including strategy, development, tactical expertise, and measurement of SEO programs
- Spearheading the ideation and development of tech-enabled SEO automation and/or agentic AI solutions for workflow optimization, performance optimization, data analysis, and organic growth strategy
- Developing bespoke service solutions and strategies for our most complex, Enterprise SEO programs
- Working with the SEO directorate to determine the correct roles, responsibilities, and expertise needed to scale and grow our SEO practice. Managing the recruitment, retention, and professional development of the department.
- Partnering with interdisciplinary teams, platform and technology partners, and agency leadership at large to develop and guide OKRs, cross-functional strategic initiatives, and special projects, holding relevant members accountable to any respective follow-through
- Partnering closely with internal stakeholders to capture and share learnings, providing thought leadership pertaining to emerging trends in search and developing the roadmap for future success
You Must Have
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical SEO and content strategy
- 4+ years of demonstrated success in staff management, development and mentoring experience
- Demonstrated interest in AI Search (AEO/GEO) and applied learnings
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a SEO discipline within an agency/business in a highly collaborative environment to develop and execute SEO strategies, plans, and programs for clients in a variety of industries
- Deep knowledge of all aspects of the SEO space: platforms, vendors, measurement, content creation, technology, UX
- Experience overseeing Enterprise SEO campaigns at scale across regions, lines of business, and brands
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations, action plans, and campaigns that drive high ROI
- An innovative and strategic mindset which includes thinking forward to new algorithm changes, being proactive about future technology, and collaborating on new strategies for improved ranking and traffic
- Strong Understanding of technical implementation to assist with articulation and execution on a variety of platforms (Wordpress, Magento, Shopify, Salesforce, and additional CMS experience is a plus)
- Practical knowledge of and experience with Python and Google Apps Script development, specifically within the context of SEO (e.g. data analysis, NLP, etc.)
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript
- Strong knowledge with measurement and reporting tools such as Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Adobe Analytics, and Google Search Console
- Previous experience with crawling and rank reporting tools such as SEMrush, BrightEdge, Whitespark, Moz, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog
- Strong understanding of optimization for alternative search engines, social platforms, and marketplaces, including iOS and Google Play stores, YouTube, Pinterest, and Amazon
- Working knowledge of paid media and other services in relation to SEO
- Knack to delegate efficiently and manage internal teams in the development and execution of effective planning and execution
- A track record of participating in successful new business pitches that generate growth
- The ability to use consumer insights data, organic performance, and key trends to inform the development of strategies and plans
- Strong time and project management skills, with the ability to identify and respond to situations rapidly
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; including strong presentation skills
