The Head of Security and Crisis Management is in charge of the security for all countries of the Asia Region, including supervision of security managers of India and China. He/she is the security advisor of the Regional Directors and the Country Directors.

He/she assures that Security process complies with Thales Group procedures and policies, including necessary reviews and approvals.

He/she puts in place a continuous improvement process to ensure the Group’s methodology and way of working are efficient and in line with the best practices.

Expert in Security questions and crisis management, he/she undertakes analysis to anticipate the risks’ evolution and manages possible side effects. He/she is in charge of developing and improving the internal security culture in each country of the area where the Group has a footprint.

A good interaction and team spirit with all functions such as HR, Legal & contract, procurement, PMO, services and all the support functions is key to a good integration of the security questions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Realizes risks assessment for each country of the Asia area and ensures regular updating of these risks assessments, in coordination with Country Directors, Country Security Officers (when there is) and corporate security department.
  • Regarding risks assessments, proposes, puts in place and adapts security rules and processes approved by corporate security department.
  • Supports all Country Directors, Country Security Officers, Projects Managers and the Regional Director in all matters relating to security (physical security, training and awareness, local processes, security communication, GDPR for security, etc.).
  • travels wherever needed to support as soon as possible the Regional Director, Country Directors and Country Security Officers, in case of a crisis and interfaces with the corporate crisis team and, if needed the local French representatives and/or local authorities.
  • Organizes and realizes security training and awareness sessions in all countries of the Asia Region.
  • Is kept informed of security incidents in the Asia region and, if necessary, is involved in incident management.
  • Controls quality of security services provided by security suppliers in countries, takes part in the selection and of security suppliers in coordination with the Corporate Security Department.
  • Defines, prepares and proposes to the Corporate Security Department all crisis management procedures and evacuation plans for each country where the Group has a footprint.
  • Prepares and maintains a regional Security dashboard and a Security Management System, reporting all necessary KPIs to monitor the performance of the Security function.
  • Identifies and develops a network of useful security contacts in all countries: embassies (notably the French embassies), security managers of other companies, security suppliers, local security forces, etc.).
  • Seeks to improve permanently the security process by implementing adapted best practices and sensitizing all involved stakeholders.
  • Interacts with engineering, procurement, delivery, finance, legal and those with sign-off responsibility.
  • Acts in close cooperation with SSI function representatives.
  • Interfaces with all necessary Thales entities, functions and Stakeholders.
  • Coordinates with the CBU’s chief security officers-France in order to guarantee a full compliance of the French classified information’s management in the French Defense projects in the countries of the Asian region.
  • Is closely associated (from the beginning) to real estate projects, provides all security guidelines related to Real estate to comply with local risks assessments, country and THALES standard and regulations.
  • Ensures security of the CEO and VVIP when travelling in his area of responsibility, in close coordination with DSG.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Security management.
  • Significant experience in a security role within an international environment.
  • Experience in working within multidisciplinary and multinational teams.
  • Experience in multicultural environments, especially in Asia Region.
  • A professional experience in a Defence, and/or high-tech environment is not mandatory but would be a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency with computer applications MS Office (Word/ Excel/ Powerpoint).
  • Specific security certification is not mandatory but a distinct advantage.

Due to the complexity of the environment, operational responsibilities and sensitivity of Group activities, the Head of Security is expected to demonstrate a high level of soft skills and a strong leadership:

  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentation.
  • Proven capacity to work efficiently in demanding environments.
  • High level of adaptability and reactivity.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including on short notice.
  • Leadership capability of multidisciplinary, multinational security teams or correspondents to achieve tight deadlines in a pressured environment.
  • Strong security and information protection awareness.
  • Crisis management and operational skills.
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
  • A team player getting along well with people of different nationalities and backgrounds.
