What You Will Do

As Head of Sales – Public Sector & Government, you will lead the commercial strategy and sales performance across Johnson Controls' Electronic Fire & Security portfolio throughout the UK & Ireland. Reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving sustainable growth across four specialist businesses spanning Electronic Security, Fire Detection, Life Safety and Integrated Technology Solutions. This is a highly strategic leadership role focused on increasing market share, strengthening customer relationships and developing a high-performing sales leadership team. You will work closely with business leaders, key customers, strategic partners and operational teams to build a market-leading position within the Public Sector, Government and Critical Environments sectors.

How You Will Do It
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy that delivers sustainable growth and market leadership.
  • Create and implement multi-year growth plans focused on organic growth, market expansion and strategic account penetration.
  • Lead, coach and develop Sales Leaders across multiple specialist businesses.
  • Drive accountability through robust performance management, KPI ownership and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain a predictable sales pipeline across new business, service contracts, major projects and recurring revenue streams.
  • Personally manage relationships with key strategic customers, framework partners and senior stakeholders.
  • Support large-scale, multi-site public sector and government opportunities from identification through to contract award.
  • Align commercial strategies across multiple business units to maximise collaboration and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Identify and capitalise on emerging opportunities within Public Sector, Government and Critical Environment markets.
  • Ensure excellence in CRM utilisation, forecasting accuracy, reporting and pipeline management.
  • Drive profitable and sustainable growth while maintaining strong commercial performance.
  • Foster a culture of commercial excellence, continuous improvement and customer-centricity.
What We Are Looking ForRequired:
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in senior sales leadership positions.
  • Proven track record leading large, complex sales organisations.
  • Experience within Electronic Security, Fire Protection, Life Safety, Building Technologies or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated success delivering business growth and commercial transformation.
  • Strong strategic planning, forecasting and sales management expertise.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing sales leadership teams.
  • Strong customer relationship and executive stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to balance growth and profitability.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles, framework agreements and large-scale strategic opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills supported by data-driven insights.
Preferred:
  • Experience selling into Public Sector, Government or Critical Environment markets.
  • Knowledge of security, fire and life safety technology solutions.
  • Experience leading multi-business or matrix sales organisations.
  • Familiarity with large framework agreements and public procurement processes.
