About the role

We are seeking a results-oriented Head of Revenue Cycle Management to build and scale our company's end-to-end revenue cycle management function. You will analyze our revenue cycle procedures, track our revenue performance over time, and lead analysis to improve our processes and results. You will also help to build and manage the team as the company continues to scale.

To ensure success as the Head of Revenue Cycle Management, you should possess sound knowledge of quantitative data analysis and experience in an established RCM function. An outstanding Head of Revenue Cycle Management will be someone whose expertise translates into informed business decisions that optimize revenue income.

Core Areas of Responsibility

  • Build an efficient, scalable RCM function at Two Chairs and manage the day-to-day RCM operations
    • Oversee the RCM function at Two Chairs and help drive long-term decision-making and operational execution for future growth
    • You’ll initially manage one Revenue Cycle Analyst, with the opportunity to further build the team over time
  • Continue to evolve the right set of KPIs to assess and monitor RCM health
    • Establish a regular cadence for ongoing RCM reporting
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead us to solutions or better outcomes
  • Develop and implement improved revenue cycle processes and procedures from intake to collections
    • Build processes and systems that can support our rapid growth utilizing data and tech-enabled solutions where possible
    • Identify and lead the implementation of our RCM tech stack
    • Optimize the team’s workflows to ensure the most efficient execution and predictable strong results
    • Drive outcomes and improve visibility into company cash flow and other core financial metrics
  • Partnering with finance, product, operations, and other cross-functional partners to improve performance and help inform business decisions
    • Serve as the primary point of contact and the voice of RCM across the organization
    • Work closely with other teams to enable holistic solutions to billing and collections challenges 

Impact and Success Indicators 

Where you’ll make an impact in the first 90 days:

  • Become our resident expert on the key performance indicators through which we can assess and manage progress in the RCM function including DSO, Cash to Rev, A/R over 90, clean claim percentage
  • Conduct a review of the existing processes and procedures for billing and collections to identify strengths, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Improve data and reporting capabilities to provide better visibility into RCM performance 
  • Partner with the finance team to identify key RCM performance drivers and more accurately and efficiently forecast RCM and cash outcomes

 Where you’ll make an impact in the first year:

  • Identify, plan, and implement a robust tech stack that can scale rapidly with our business
  • Establish a regular cadence of RCM reporting and analysis to provide better visibility into billing and collections for key stakeholders
  • Embed with the finance team to improve cash collections and visibility by driving more efficient RCM processes
  • Build a long-term plan for the RCM function at Two Chairs, including team growth and tech enablement, to support our 3+ year growth plans
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to onboard new commercial payers, ensuring alignment with RCM goals and objectives, such as favorable rates and contract terms
  • Prepare for financial audits by ensuring procedural compliance in revenue reporting and collection

 You’ll be successful if you have:

  • At least 5 years experience in RCM, as a consultant to growing healthcare organizations (preferred) and have built or scaled an RCM function  
  • Highly adaptable and thrives in fast-paced environments; excited to solve problems within the ambiguity and limited structure of a high-growth start-up 
  • Desire to build, create, and learn; the right candidate will have a growth mindset and a high level of intellectual curiosity
  • Knowledge of the healthcare revenue cycle’s practices, procedures, concepts, and component operations, including billing, collections, charge capture, contractual terms, third-party reimbursements, and cash management
  • Strong business intuition and familiarity with financial concepts; billing and accounts receivable analysis/management experience a plus
  • Experience cultivating strong relationships with commercial payers, including the ability to generate and oversee mass claim reconsideration projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners at all levels of the organization
  • Experience working with revenue cycle information systems or system implementation teams for complex projects, application development, and support
  • Organizational and project management skills and ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule
