Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Enables safe, reliable and efficient research and development: Creation and compliant implementation of working relevant risk assessments; testing, documentation, controlling, trainings; Responsible for site R&D invests, FAM budget and controlling
2. Films expert in polymer compounds and rigid films manufacturing processes; generates and secures IP
3. Leads complex international R&D projects with internal and external partners (raw material suppliers, customers, institutes and universities)
4. Drives R&D efforts in rigid technical films and with that provides pilot-scale R&D products for customer sampling in quality and time
5. Close collaboration with the SF APAC P&AD Head and team, providing R&D support for existing and new applications based on customer requirements
6. Being accountable for the product transfer process from pilot scale to production and launch
7. Lending technical expertise for critical customer projects in APAC when needed, securing strategic must-win battles and business growth for different segments from R&D perspective, in line with SF innovation pipeline and growth plans
8. Member of the SF APAC Management Team for Research and Development, the Global R&D community and regional innovation steering committees
9. Spokesperson for Regional Technical Product Management (RTPM) in the SF APAC Management Team and with that ensuring together with the RTPM organization product steward ship and stringent complaint and specification management for rigid films products at the interface between operations and customers.
Qualifications
• Advance degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant scientific or Engineering discipline (Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent)
• More than 5 years (preferred 7 years) of experience in polymer engineering, (preferred extrusion, films extrusion) or in product development in polymers with focus on technical films.
• Strong leadership skills. High innovativeness and creativity. Ability to lead cross-functional projects, also with external partners
• Good communication skills; fluent in English
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
